It's not attached to the fiberglass. The exhaust pipe stops about two inches short of the glass, and I made an aluminum bezel with a tube that goes over the top of the exhaust pipe with a 1/4" air gap all the way around. That helps for the heat, and if I ever run into anything with the glass, it'll have some give so it doesn't tweak the exhaust pipe.
