Been pretty lucky for the most part, that was untill last night. This is my first ever loss, car or home.
Could've been worse I suppose. They left the CB, Hi-Lift, pocket volt meter, and my led mini mag (I love that flashlight). Thought they got my tool bag but later found it in the van.

The window

The deck. Have fun with that assholes! Eclipse decks wont play without the security cd.

The sub and amp.

Yeah i never leave my sub and amp in my rig when parked on the street and i pull my decks face off to . Working as a manager of an Auto glass shop ive heard to many stories.

hahaha, i hear ya. never had a car "Broken into" just stolen and stripped.

I personally know how easy it is to break into an xj. thats why mine is in the garage.

At least they didnt try stealin it. Drilled and punched my ign. Didnt realize it needs a chipped key. Sucks they got your stuff, but could def. be worse.

The dash was left in good shape. Nice of them to take the time to disconnect all the housings instead of cut through them.

usually they aren't smart enough to unplug anything... they cut it all and end up ruining the radio (kinda like jacking an eclipse and not having the cd) or doing 5k worth of damage to the dash, and the car/truck/jeep gets totalled over it. all over a 50 dollar stereo. (they'll be lucky to get that for it these days) dumb.

My mom had her old VW cabriolet broken into a number of years ago for the crappy AM/FM radio (NO cassette, NO cd) so they picked the lock to get into the trunk instead of slashing the roof (not sure why) then DESTROYED the dash. She actually wished the insurance co had totalled it but no such luck.
Bummer about your stereo though...

Sorry about the stereo and accessories. That's never a good thing to wake up to. Insurance going to cover the window?

It's a pain removing everything after each wheeling trip, but I totally gut my rig for daily driving duties. Aside from some a Club, jumper cables, and my air hose I don't carry anything.

You have some courteous thieves around there. Both times they got in mine they bent or cut the metal to get there.

Rub a little dirt on it and get back in the game.

i had the same thing happen to me in chicago - but they got away with every tool i owned at the time.

since i had it replaced, that side window has started to 'come loose'

anyone know what kind of adhesive or how to secure it again?

Yeah thieves suck, had mine broke into a couple years ago through that same window. Insurance was good about it though and I got pretty much every thing payed for.
They tried to take my sub box which was bolted to the floor, instead they settled for the amp screwed to the box. Got the high-lift, and tire iron but left like $400 of tools. Then to top it off they took my track bar:dunno:.

It was interesting to say the least. Now I keep all my stuff under a big lock box in the cargo area. I also tie my deck to the dash with a cable running from the back of the deck to a random bolt somewhere in the back of the dash/firewall.
Hope your insurance company treats you well.

The last time (it's happened a few times) my jeep was broke into they wrecked my drivers side door lock with screw driver, and when that didn't work they broke the pass side corner window. Ripped half my dash out to steel an old broken eclipse and all of my trout fishing gear! The worst part is that I was at a friends house where we were leaving @ 4am to head east of the mtns for our annual fishing trip. I was raging pissed.
