Big problem says its misfiring!!

If you have a timing light you can use that to see if you are getting power to your plugs. Just hook in on like normal and see if it strobes (engine running) then just go down the line and make sure all cyl strobe the light. (safer and faster than the old screwdriver in the plug wire trick.)

Good luck

Sometimes, if you use a spray bottle filled with water, you can spray the wires to help you see the arcing if any, is occurring. Also, check the wire harness for the CPS, I've seen them fall onto the exhaust manifold and melt the sheathing off, then bounce around causing an intermitten short...

Well the cat was blocked, so no more cat on my turd. At least for right now. 3 of my of my spark plugs smelled of gas so that added to the mess. New lesson learned do not run bosch plugs!! The plugs were only 3000 miles old. Now I have a hole in my carpet maybe it is time to rip it out. At least she runs right now.

I have a 00 XJ Sport I-6. I had blown the head gasket, so I replaced the gasket and threw a new head on there, drained all the coolant/oil outta my engine and refilled it up. It cranked over right away but upon driving it down the street, my CEL started blinking and I had a loss of power. Turns out, we ripped the engine out and the coolant/oil mixture had moved the internal bearings outta place. Not good so we ended up with a new engine in the end. Might check your dipstick for a milkshake like mixture of oil and coolant. Take a whiff, you can smell the coolant. Maybe drain your oil and see if you get more than 6 qts coming out. Oil and coolant arent that hard to miss. If thats the case, the head gasket is blown and you could have cracked your head. The excess fluid could have moved the bearings outta place. If your gonna put a new engine in, stroke it!

cut the pipe punch out the cat see if that fixes the prob dont run without the cat though buy a new one but atleast you will know... only if its rattling though as said in the earlier post

Is it a random/multiple misfire? Check your crankshaft position sensor...also check your igniton coil(s). Is it a COP (Coil on Plug) or does it have a cap/rotor?

96 will still have a cap and rotor.

I hear all the time about Bosch plugs being POS's......I used a set, and then before anything could go wrong I went back to Champions....

I'm not sure how that could be since Bosch is supposed to be such a great company, and German?
