Hey guys, I have been doing a lot deep water crossings and going into some deep mud pits and I would like to pick up a snorkel for my 89 Comanche. I am not worried about the cost I just want to know what snorkel you guys feel is the best? I searched the board and saw a lot of different brands being thrown around but nobody really said what the differences are between brands and which one is the best. Give me your opinions and let me know what you think.

P.S.-I am not interested in making my own snorkel

I've thought about the 2nd one just as cheap insurance... I try to not be the first one in the hole,:eyes: , mainly cuz im one of the smallest rigs in our group.

Airflow makes a good one from what I've read. That ebay one looks ok only 150 after shipping but its comin from China so who knows if its any good. I don't really trust ordering from a location that isn't even in english.

ya I see what you are saying Keaton, after doing a little more research I dont think I would put something like that on my truck. I have been looking at the Airflow snorkel, I really like how it sits higher up on the finder so you cun still run a trim finder.

Airflow also runs the air intake straight through the inner fender into the air box, as opposed to a hose that snakes around the front core support and back to the air box. I'm all for the fewest bends and the shortest intake length (fewest number of places to snag or chafe it and take in H2O)

You would need to move anything on the inner fender that is in the way (washer fluid bottle on Renix, wiring harness on H.O. models, and does not fit ABS equipped vehicles)

ive been running the ebay snorkel for 3 years. its an exact replica of the safari snorkel, but when mine came in it had a foreign language on the side. i sanded the name off, painted it black, and it looks just as good as the real deal, but only cost me about 120 bucks at the time.

Brand regardless - or home made ......a snorkle should, where possible, provide the most unobstructed flow via the shortest distance.

imho, lots of bends and constricted crinkle tubing isnt the most ideal arrangement.
