Getting ever so closer to being ready for the B1K this year. Vegas to Reno left us with lots to do.

New Currie housings arrived. One of our guys spent a bunch of time trussing, adding bracketry, reinforcing things, and so on...

After some time primering and painting...we've got axles!

We also got some new air filters, AEM dryflows. AEM recommended this particular filter as the one the Toyota Factory Team runs the Baja without ever changing. Our old K&N unit suffocated the engine out nearly 6 times during V2R

The next upgrade is nice. Savvy hooked us up with one of their Big Brake Kits to fit within the 15" Wheels we are running. I did find right away that our gussetts will need some slight clearancing to clear the bracket, but not by much.

Some other things we've done:
- Removed about 50lbs of Silt from the car
- Added a horn button more easily accessible to the codog
- Installed Torque Converter lockup switch
- Did another cleaning of the bump shifter, gets gummed up at every race
- Installed Browndog Motor Mounts
- Realigned Pass Fender
- Had all the King Shocks rebuilt, new shafts in rear

Our yet to do:
- Extend threads for Parker Pumpers to fit larger filters
- Deal with sticky harnesses, very hard to loosen
- Install T-Case Skid
- Add Head Blanketing/Insulation to trans tunnel, hot feet!
- Fix front bumpstop mounts, replace bumpstops

There's more stuff I'm sure but this is the bulk of it. Our deadline is the 28th, when we put it on a trailer and head to SEMA. Running that deadline down!

Are you guys going to prerun? We will be down there from the Nov. 14th till the race doing the San Felipe section to Mike's turn off.No Jeepspeed this race, starting 7th in 1600 class.

Flying in on the 12th to transport our cars from Redondo to San Diego and start pre-running. We'll have 4 pre-runners (2 are chase trucks) to cover some ground in.

I hope we see more Class 17 entries soon.

More work last night, got the rear housing under the car, bolted up, shocks in, limit straps attached, new Deavers.

Got the front axle in, arms bolted, track bar bolted, steering bolted...then found that the new big brake kit requires some machine work to the unit bearings so we got held up there.

Going to attack again Thursday to get the rest done, hope to have it rolling tomorrow!

Ryan,

Nope, same springs that you guys were running, no changes to the suspension at all aside from re-building joints/arms and fixing alot of wallowed out mounting holes in suspension parts.

The shock mounts on the axle look alot higher?

Na, they look a tad higher but the shock bolt always came really close to the jam nut on the lower link at full droop. Looks like it still will.

Need to make sure the by-pass tube doesnt hit the outer shock bracket. The other housing had a notch in it for that.

Also Roy,
I mentioned to Tom about locking out the steering before the caliper makes contact with the Steering-C gusset on the back. If it touches, you'll lose your brakes for about 3 pedal pumps. Just enough to scare the crap out of you...
The old housing had a nut or somthing we hacked on to the 'C' just before the start of a Baja race when we discovered the problem the first time.

M...then found that the new big brake kit requires some machine work to the unit bearings so we got held up there.

You might want to grind a spare set of hubs for the parts box.

hey what size are those bump stop striker tubes? Meaning what is the OD and how tall? Also what size coils you running up front?
