Badlands and Kevin's trail

I've gone through this trail countless times but never noticed if there is an alternate route around the deep hole at the end or beginning, depends if your doing it counter or clockwise, of Kevin's Trail. I'll be wheeling and leading a fairly new club with stocker Jeeps. After the rains god knows how deep it got. Thanks!

I've always known it as Kevin's.. BUT I think its the green trail. If you're in the quarry head east, up and over the rock wall. The entrance is right there.

IIRC, there is a long, often muddy, trail on the far east side of the park that circumvents a pond. It is past the quarry and the entrance and exits are on that trail which circumvents the quarry along the top wall. That trail is labeled as "Green".

The bypass is to stay off the trail ;)

As with most trails at the Badlands, the trail is the obstacle.

I don't know where we got the idea that "Green" meant easy ;) There is a lot of stuff on "Green" that is definitely not "easy", especially for a stocky.

I ran Green completely stock WF09... Bob had to pull me through a 30ft mud pit, but that was the crappy tires I had, but outside of that I made the whole thing no problem...

Don't feel bad Austin, I had to get pulled out of it this year. 4 rigs went through before the Ice broke on me!

I'm just worried cuz I've never been there after 2 days of heavy rain fall. I wonder how deep the creek is. It'll be interesting for the stockers. Maybe I'll put the snorkel to work.

the creek never gets very bad.

the mud around that water hole on the far side of the quarry
is nasty and bottomless. avoid it. Or have lots of good friends with tow straps.

Thanks Bob! Heres the path I'm planning on hitting. The red circle is the hole I was talking about.

Rev--- Got back a little bit ago. For the amount of rain that they got it really wasnt that bad. That hole was filled to the brim so I didnt mess with it

Well it's too late now, but I guess I'll throw my experience in anyway. Based on the photo, that would be where you come into the quarry, go left, head up the hill and circle around and come out on the plateau on the east side of the quarry. Right?

In that case, I got all sorts of screwed in that mud hole where the red circle is. My buddy told me that his friend broke a shaft in his CJ7 in that hole last weekend.

My fun times (I was going in the reverse direction of your arrows):
