bacon....

Ok, this one turned out to be the best one yet (for me). The mild sausage really let the flavor of the bacon come out. Got over a cup and a half of juices out of this one. Was debating brushing BBQ sauce on the outside, but glad I didn't.

Anyone ever put eggs in one?

I am thinking that with Cinco de' Mayo coming up I am going all out on a spicy Bacon Explosion. I want to use fresh cured thick sut bacon w/ chrizo sausage, but for the "zing" I am going to put a smoked cheddar and chrizo stuffed jalapeno pepper in the center of all of it. I envision a mess once this thing is consumed.... kind of like a chile rellano wrapped in a chrizo and bacon sock.....yum! :explosion: :passgas:

Before you do that, why don't you get your will up to date.:shhh: Then, call the nearest cardiologist and reserve a room.

That sounds good. Add some habanero's cut up also!!!! I think you should bring it down here and we put it in the smoker :)

we need to plan a little Meet and Greet at the farm and have day of cookin and eating and mild wheeling if the weather permits it.

8 hours...

Sorry, "Next to the Beer" to "Next to the Nachos". If you were to have a M&G that is.

My BacEx is on hold for the week, I am busy!

That is all.

NICE!! I have gained 22 pounds on eating bacon explosions :D A fair trade huh? :D

For lunch/dinner Saturday, I ordered up Pizza Hut. Had a large hand tossed with chicken, bacon, onion and jalapeno. Tasty, tasty.

The local Hy-Vee Grocery Store had their 1# packages fo thick cut pepepr bacon on sale for only $2.99 b/c it was going out of date in a few days. I snagged 10# of it and froze it. I have a few culinary creations up my sleeve for future gatherings. :chef:

This is the first time I've ever heard of a hog farmer buying bacon from the store!:dunno:

haha! it is true, so true!! It is way cheaper to buy processed bacon verses having it done locally. I am not set up for curing or smoking bacon, so I just buy it. Now as far as loin or chops, I can hack those out all on my own. All our hogs are sent to processing at a Farmland Foods facility that is only like 25 miles from our hog barns. So, as long as I am buying Farmland pork products I am supporting the farm! :D

thanks for taking care of this thread..is it ironic that it involved bacon, and your nuts? :D
