IMO you're better off either rebuilding the 4.0 (stroker time maybe :guitar or look for a low mile 4.0 from the junk yard to swap in. the 4.3 isn't that great of a motor from what I've read, plus you wouldn't have to fool around with the tranny/tcase and you wouldn't have to fab new motor mounts... plus all the rewiring involved etc.

but don't get ahead of yourself, definitely check the compression first :rof:

Same thing happened to me and my 2000XJ had to go to mechanic. A valve in the oil pump had gotten stuck and caused the pressure to build up. New oil pump and back in business.

Running good for a few months now with good oil pressure.

yeah, i found a stroker kit for like 800 bucks.. is that a good deal? or do u know of a better deal i can get?
