1995 unknown miles on engine and trans but completely new fluid in trans less than 20k miles
With no previous problems with the engine or transmission in the past 6 plus months, today on my way to work after about 20 minutes of driving on the freeway there was a loud pop and the transmission downshifted to 3rd and the lockup stopped working. I went from 2300ish rpm’s to 3100 in an instant and it seemed to lose a little bit of power. When I slowed down it shifted fine through gears 1-3 but would not shift up to 4th. Although it shifted fine through low gears it seemed like there was some loss of power or maybe slipping. Throughout the day the car did the same thing 2 other times. Shifts fine at first and then after 15-20 minutes a loud bang and downshift.
I had a spare tps in the car and I switched it and adjusted the tv cable for no change. The fluid looks and smells good. This is my daily driver and has been doing well.
