Audi SB Com. "Green Police"--farce or test balloon???

I saw a Prius with a sticker reading "The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money - Margaret Thatcher" at the grocery store today. I didn't quite know what to think.
Prius doesn't always mean socialist...IE My uncle drives one because he wanted good gas mileage. He loves being able to drive 500 some odd miles on 10 gallons...

I'd love to also, but I suspect I would spend too much on a vehicle capable of doing it to make it economically viable. Haven't really done the math though.

Someone did the math. Turns out you only have to drive the hybrid something like 210K miles to pay for the price premium over a similar car with a conventional power train. Not sure if that included having to replace the hybrid's battery at least once in there.

Hmm, just got back from a weekend in AZ and guess what? Well besides the boarded up businesses along Mill Ave there was urban tumble weeds all along HWY 60 on the drive to Gold Canyon. I'm lucky enough to get to travel alot and this is not just a San Francisco or California problem, but the whole country has this blight, and thus must be full of lazy scum.

San Francisco just decided to do something about it.

Like I've said earlier in another thread, my city banned plastic water bottles also. And you have to purchase your plastic grocery bags. Boatwrench, isn't there something wrong with banning things? What happened to freedom, I love the idea of making all the lowlifes who voluntarily gave up their freedom and are imprisoned picking up the garbage, makes perfect sense to me. I loved the commercial. A look to the future of BHO!

What happened to freedom

So do you consider being free to damage the landscape by littering OK? There are rules banning things because we live in a civilized world. That is why there is no smoking on airplanes and no radios allowed on city buses. Or do you feel the person behind you at the movies talking on their cell phone is OK too?

ooohhhh, man I hate the cell phone talker in the movies, had that happen at Christmas. That example is perfect, however, him irritating me, is impolite, would I want it to be against the law? No way. I rather take the time to pummel him to within an inch of his life, joking of course. The same goes with littering, there are things that you cant legislate, and common sense and common courtesy is one of them. Smoking in confined areas is different, as I said in my communist town they've banned smoking in vehicles with children inside, now that I support because there are no doubts about the health effects of smoking, especially on kids, who are helpless to stand up for themselves. If your bad behavior affects the health of someone other than yourself without their consent you should pay a price. I believe littering falls into the common courtesy and sense department, there will always be morons who never get it, who will pollute while camping and pay no mind to it, legislation will not help these idiots I'm afraid.

Of course not.

That's why we outlaw littering.

Outlawing plastic bags to stop littering is like trying to ban guns to stop crime.

Oh, wait, thay do wanna try that, too...

Robert

Didn't they project the cost of that registry at about 2 million dollars when it was proposed? 'Ended up at about a billion? 'Hope they don't decide to register shopping bags.
