I'm going to be up there next weekend with a bunch of my family. I'll sneak out one of the days.

I've been riding everything up there for years on a dirtbike but have a feeling my viewpoint is skewed a bit on 4 wheels.

My rig is lifted 3.5 on 31's and I'm wondering if there are any trails to definitely avoid. I think I should be ok on 3n34. On a ride I watched a pack of what appeared to be stock land rovers all make it.

Any suggestions to run and/or avoid?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have at least one other jeep with you. I myself like having 2 others with me when i go out to play. Let somebody know the area you'll be in. Have a great time i hear we got some snow coming in this week.

Same here, stay to the fire roads if you're by yourself.

The trails change every week depending on who's stacking rocks. You might need one locker or a bump to make it up the "waterfall" on Dishpan Springs, and you'll probably want rocker protection on Holcomb Creek. The rest of 'em are fair game.

Gold Mtn is a good one, bypass John Bull and head straight along the nice dirt road through the pines. You'll come up to the Bellville Cabin in Holcomb Valley, kind of a neat history artifact. Holcomb trail is one of my favorites. I did it with 3.5 and 31's but you'll need a good spotter. No bypasses for the three rock gardens there. Nice thing is, if you come up on something you don't like, just turn around. Lots of trails up there. Love it.

Just got back from running 3n34 from the pinicales staging area until I turned around at the big waterfall section. Just past the deep creek bridge it got really fun. Having been through that on a dirt bike it was a much more fun in the jeep. There are a few sections that on my bike dont register but were a completely different animal driving them. Like that first section past the bridge. I thought for sure I was going to band up my rig. My brother took a few pictures and spotted me there and one other spot.

Coming back down all that stuff in the dark was super cool. Got through everything clean and had a blast.

Should have a few pics from him on Monday.
