Are Cold Air Intake's Really Worth It ?

Anything that can bring colder air into the engine is worth it. How much to expect? I dunno might feel an increase in throttle response and better gas mileage.

If ya gots skills fab up an airtube and a heatshield and you have a homebrew FIPK

I am adding a high flow exhaust and was wondering how much to expect to gain from a k&n cold air kit its an "01" 4.0 .

As Slip Kid said, you can gain the same HP for a lot less money by making your own homebrew FIPK. It's easier than you might think. Here's mine:

How much hp will you gain? Maybe 5hp on an XJ, 8hp on a TJ, and as much as 12hp on a YJ. Yes, the stock YJ intake really IS that restrictive.

I did a cowl induction on my XJ cost about $75 including the K&N filter in the factory airbox. It made a difference altough it took a few days before the computer learned, and adjusted to the more/cooler air. The thing that really woke it up was the Flowmaster 40 mufler on the stock pipe.

How do you convert to a 2 electric fan setup? The clutch fan is the one that is connected to the engine, correct?
