Is awesome. My HDD crashed last week on my Macbook. I got the laptop about a week after the Macbook first came out, so I have one of the first ones off the manufacturing line. My AppleCare was up in May, so I figured I was screwed and would be paying full price for a new HDD.

I got:
-New 130GB HDD (my old one was 60gb)
-OS X 10.5 (had 10.4)
-New topcase, keyboard, trackpad and click pad.
-New battery.

I didn't pay a dime and had it back in 4 business days. I have always loved my Mac. This is just icing on the cake.

They are really tuned into customer care! Both mine and my wife's MacBook Pro's and iPhones have the full apple care. They have taken care of us every time (which isn't that often) we have issues. My girl has never had an issue with her iMac and has taken a few freebie kids courses via apple camp during the summer.

Not to mention Snow Leopard rocks:exclamati

Where in Cary you live Cnickgo? Where'd you have to go Crabtree Vally Mall? I use to live in Holly Springs. :)

do you guys find the people in the apple store unbelievably annoying
"um, jeremy...could you triage this i pod for me?"

unbearable, not to mention the mac is all show no go...try running any statistical or engineering or construction software (even in the xp port)

I think apple users are like land rover owners:
#1-product they own is inferior to cheaper competitors
#2-owners will NEVER admit it is inferior to competitors
#3-owning product grants entry into elite group (eg. freshman college girls majoring in family studies, hipsters drinking free trade coffee telling you why you're wrong for drinking folgers, my 9 year old cousins, people with thick rim glasses blogging about organic music industry etcetera etcetera)

oh well i'll stop ranting now :soapbox:

im not going to get into it, very old arguement for me atleast <--long time nerd, but eventually mac users will have the same hardware in their computers as PC users, then it will only be a OS system difference and by that time people might actually start making programs for the dang things, like industrial programs and real games...

right now some of the hardware used in macs is completely swappable with a pc, mostly cpus and other processors, the hardware they plug into is still different though.

I had a similar experience when my charging cable frayed and went out.

I got a new cable (with a cord that is twice as long) in 2 days.

I live off Lake Pine, inside of Cary Parkway. This was my first time going to Crabtree, I used to have to drive out to Southpoint in Durham before the Crabtree store existed.

Snow Leopard does rock! I didn't think it would make much of a difference from Tiger, but I notice actions going a whole lot quicker. Spaces is alot of fun, and I'm loving how iPhoto automatically organizes photos into "Events".

Gotta love stereotyping.:banghead:

I'll agree some of the people at the Apple store are annoying.....then again so are some of the folks on forums...... or any where else people gather for that matter.

As for the rest of your comments I find them kind of amusing. I don't think I fit into your skewed view of what a "stereo typical" Apple owner is by any means. I'm a Hi-Tech Redneck! :farmer:

I wish I was out in Holly Springs, beautiful area. You have space to breathe as well, not this condensed Cary crap.

But a lot of landfills and a gun range! :( We lived in the Woodlands apart of the Oak Hall neighborhood off of 55. I never heard the gun range or had issues with the landfills but it was a big to do while I lived there....

truth be told I have an older mac I use as my alarm clock. Screen is busted but the alarm works so I can wake up to survivor every morning!

When the beast (the 17" gateway I have) dies or I feel like replacing it I'm going to get a Mcbook Pro. My sister has a mac and she loves it. It's not for anything other than net surfing and photos, and I think that mac's are well suited for that. F-ing windows and the constant stream of updates, blah blah blah. time for my primary to be a mac for a while and see how I feel.

My wife has a mac and I much prefer my linux based PC. I don't do gaming except for a few flight sims, I use my laptop as a media machine mostly. I thought the apple tech support was a joke. And most of the stuff I saw on the forums was all leg humping and no problem solving. Her computer is a one year old macbook.

Now that is fuuuuunay I don't care who you are!!!!! :roflmao:Those little trays that pop out with a push of a button make good beer holders too! ;)

To me computer/technology is like cars/trucks. They all suck but you have to have the right one for the task at hand! With the work I have to know just about every OS......each has it's own set of pros and cons. I choose each one I personally use based on needs and task at hand. MACs fit sometimes as others do but one doesn't always fit all needs or tasks! My kids get to see all of them so they know there is more than one kool-aid flavor!

God bless America for giving us the freedom to choose our computer/technology and cars/trucks! :greensmok
