Well I noticed the other day that the tire mount on my swing away was severely cracked and about to break off. Now I need to fix it. I know how to fab, so my issue is just the cutting and welding tools. If I were back home in California this wouldn't be a problem,, but the army loves to make life hard. Is there anyone around that will let me use their gear? I'm more than happy to supply beer and pizza of your choice.

I'm probably too far. But you are welcome to come over one weekend and use my stuff. Google maps says I'm 93 miles.

I appreciate that ghost. I may just take you up on that if nobody closer comes through. I'm probably pcsing soon so I need to be able to carry my full size spare with me

When did you know this as fact? I've been told that there is no welding or fuel cutting equipment for use be average Joe at the auto center.

Hmmm, I remember they had a plasma cutter and MIG. They must have changed the usage agreement for it. I know alot of bases will only let you use it if you have a certificate now.

If you were closer, I would let you use whatever. I have a stick and small MIG, and access to alot more. Redstone Arsenal here in Alabama doesn't care if you have a welding certificate or not........but then again this is a relatively small base

That sucks. See I'm not certified, but I won the college level combination welding competitions at my regional and state levels with skills USA. Competed in nationals but messed up. They don't give you grinders for do-overs there.

IDK who on here is at Bragg. There have been people over the years I have been here there but I dont remember who or for that matter when. Like I said if you have a free day and want to come down you are welcome. I will be out of town this weekend though.

Check em out. Most auto shops ive ever been to have had some welding equipment for use. Some, like Ft. Sill, Oklahoma had some good metal workimg equipment. I build a custom underbelly at ft. Sill and it was easy
