Hello all... I was wondering if anyone knows of a shop that would install gears? I'm in the western burbs of Chicago. Bolingbrook to be exact. I found a place in New Lennox that deals with race cars. Dunno though. They seemed confident but rather go to place that deals with offroad vehicles (not common around these parts). They quoted me $600 labor for both ends. Dunno if thats good or bad. Please let me know if you guys know of any places. Thanks

I'd be a bit of a drive but, I'd highly recommend driving it to Kalamazoo, MI to the guys at JCR Offroad. They do great work.

Word has it that there is a guy in somonauk (a shop) that does it for $150 an axle plus parts..... a friend of mine had his done there and had good results... can't remember the name but i will ask him for it and let you know...

it will be a bit of a drive but for 1/2 the price might be worth it....

my friend also shreded a ring and pinion and the guy installed the new gears for free minus the parts... (again not postive but i will ask him for sure...)

Sound good..... but i havent dealt with them...

that'd be me, shop is called total performance, I had my 4.56's installed there, and also a new pinion bearing on the rear axle when It went out, charged me 150$ an axle every time, (prices might have changed since then)

he had mine done in a day both times, might have to call hime up and make an appointment though as he is usually pretty busy. he's right off of rt 34 in somonauk. really good guy to just go in and talk to, he's got a bunch of cool projects going on, I haven't been there in a while but last time he was working on a bronco on rockwells with 8 monster truck tires on it, his goal was to make it float so he could drive it in the boat parade at lake holiday.

Road trip to JCR would be cool. I'd like to see the shop since I'm planning on buying their winch bumper, quarter protection and 1 ton steering.

I'll give Total Performance tomorrow.
Thanks guys for the suggestions. Which ever I go with I'll have 4.56 gears by the OH10 trip.
