Anyone in Hampton Roads with an RE DS?? I need a favor!!!

If anyone in the hampton roads area has a hack and tap RE SYE on their XJ and has the accompanying DS, I need to borrow one for 5 minutes. What I'm suggesting is that you come over, I pull it, put it on mine and see if that eliminates my problem. I know this is a lot to ask, but I'm flat broke, and I'm trying to keep from getting into debt too badly. If you are in the area and can help please PM me and we can work out the details. THANKS!!

Doesn't need to be RE. Any with a flange mount will work.

I hadn't read any of your posts until now. I don't think it's DS. If you can't find one to borrow, find a DS shop and have them check the balance. I bet you it's fine.

I would pull the carrier and check the bearings anyway. On my D35 I had a noise similar to yours twice. Both times it was the carrier bearings. They felt tight and I couldn't get any movement with a pry bar, but when the caps were pulled everything just fell appart. An inner pinion bearing can give off fooling noises also.

You can try the shaft, but I really don't think it's your problem.
