I can't help you with that, but if you're willing to cut that panel up, I stole the idea of mounting a 10" in there from someone on here. They cut out everything that was indented, and then cut a piece of plywood to mount the speaker to. I'll try and track that down. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97186
You mean the Driver's side rear quarter panel? basically the opposite side to where the write-ups mounted it? I doubt it, I've had the panel off and it looked much harder to do.

From what I've read they sound okay but you have to put something behind it like dynamat or similar product to have it not vibrate as it's plastic on plastic from what I remember. I just made a box that fits in there which i think does the job nicely and doesn't take up too much room. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=95990
I did one a long time ago in another XJ I had. It was super hard to do because of all the fuel filler items on that side. It's doable, but not really worth the effort.
Do you have a link?
I've never seen a Qlogic sub box for the xj.
This is a fiberglass box that was made for a JL 10w3.
The sound is great and it doesn't take up much room.
i have a pretty sweet lil sub box in the rear of an xj i bought that is a clone of the q logic box, it even has a 3-d xj logo under the carpet. pm me if youd be interested and want some pics.
I just installed the 8" XJ Pod with an 8" Kicker Woofer from Crutchfields. It looks great, and fit is OK. Unfortunately, something's buzzing somewhere at really low freq., so I have a bug to iron out there.
Installed 2-way Memphis Audio 5-1/4s in the soundbar with the directional tweeters, and installed seperate 5-1/4 Woofers and 1-1/4" tweeters in the front door and the wind wing triangle (had to go to manual mirrors).
I drive the woofer with an Infinity 100 W Amp mounted where the spare used to be.
Overall a sweet full bodied sound.
No way will you be able to mount a woofer IN the drivers side rear panel. There's a filler pipe, wiring, and all sort of brackets and braces in there.
