ANY VIKINGS FANS IN HERE?

C'mon......worthless? That guy did it all...run, catch, block....heck, he even threw key passes at times! He even led the league in receptions one year. You should put that ball away and give his autograph the respect it deserves :D Also, I'll never forgive Dennis Greene for making the wrong decision years ago....they were playing against Atlanta in the playoff finals (the winner to play Denver and cry baby Elway in the Super Bowl) There were just a few seconds left with a tie score, they could have attempted (and made) a fairly long field goal but, he let the clock run out, go into OT, lose the coin toss and the game by a friggin field goal! They would have beat Denver that year (Elway's last) because Cunningham had a flawless season and they were (I believe) undefeated that year......sigh-----------Hans

Wasn't that the Gary Anderson choke game???

Been watching the Vikings since 1968, through thick and thin. I lived in Duluth back then and met Carl Eller and Jim Marshal one year, but the real fun was going to training camp at UMD. I was there when Starr got wipped out on the sidelines. Back in those days you didn't have tons of media or big crowds for pre-season games and we got to stand on the sidelines next to the teams which was cool.

What I find amazing are the number of people I see wearing Vikings hats, sweatshirts and coats here in Indiana even with the Colts doing so well.

Oh, one thing I found out back when the North Stars were still around was don't go to a Flyers game and cheer for the visiting team, they get down right nasty in the City of Brotherly Love....

The only thing the Eagles are going to win Sunday is the rest of the season watching from home.....and then Monday morning there will be some firings and former Eagles looking for jobs because Peterson is going to :explosion against the Eaglets defence and all the Eagle fans will be wearing :anon: to hide themselves. Seriously the Eagles have a habbit of self destructing, and this weekend will be another one of those.

Carefull there JS, I am a diehard Viking fan, BUT they are NOT very consistant.

I agree, they just barely pulled it off against the Giants last Sunday. Wasn't too happy about the way they used the last remaining seconds of the game. C'mon a running play (for a loss at that!) that left the clock running! It was second down they should have gone for a short pass near the sidelines maybe pick up a couple of yards step out of bounds and stop the clock (and save a time out!) that way you might have a couple of extra downs (and a time out!) in case you blew the first field goal attempt but, thank god, we (as if I were part of the team:)) made it! We need a good QB not too impressed with Jackson or Ferotte(sp?)----------Hans

And Da Bears lost, giving the Vikings the division anyway so it really didn't matter if the Vikings won or lost, they tried some things instead of going with how it "should" have been done according to the armchair QB's. And the one fact most of you are ignoring is the Eagles are the least consistant team in the NFL, well, behind the Lions that is. Even sportscasters are saying the seasons over for the Eagles and wondering where McNabb will end up next year. He has a thing about flopping in big games. I just wonder if he'll get benched in the first quarter....My bet is it will be his last game for Philly.

:viking:I'll be wearing the Viking colors this Weekend again and I'll be hoping that the Eagles fall out of the nest again. GO VIKES

Viking's by 3, or more I hope.

Other than the interception the Vikes have done well in the first half.Peterson seems to be getting his way as long as the line does their job. Lets hope the d gets stronger in the second half, can't keep letting the Eaglets get 3 points on every drive.

looks like you guys need to wait for next year..

Well, they may be #1 in the league against the run (although that t/d run by Westbrook brings serious doubt) but, they (you notice I'm not saying "we") absolutely suck against short pass coverage and run backs. Oh well, maybe next season........I haven't given up on them in over thirty years but, I just wish they'd hurry up and win a Super Bowl before I die of old age!-----------Hans

Try 40 years Oatmeal..... the only consolation has been the Twins managing a couple World Series wins, but the Vikes aren't my only favorite that had "problems". My old high school (actually one of 5 I went to) went to the state finals in football 5 times before they finally won one. The funny part was it was their first losing season in 27 years and they went 2-6 in the regular season only to go 6-0 in the tornament to win their first championship! Go figure....
