any more talk of eliminating the emissions testing this year?

In the mean time I'll be looking for some normal size tires on 5 on 5.5 rims so I can fit on the dino tester. Anybody have some old CJ rims and tires laying around?

Colorado Springs no longer has emission for gas vehicle. Still have to get my Diesel tested. Only 1 place in town that does it and cost $50....

Shaddap. California has "profiled" me (for no good reason, I might add...) as a "gross emitter," and they send me to "Test Only" stations every damn time. For $95 a test.

Nevermind the fact that my rigs are cleaner than most vehicles 10-12 years newer (per emissions test and talking to CARB!) I still get "profiled" by their system as a gross emitter, and my damn smog test costs more than my plates.

Their response - buy a new car. Gang, I ain't made of money, and no-one makes a new car I bloody like. Revamp your system - or just include a loop in the computer that generates the notices that keeps tracks of emissions results... If someone "fits the profile" by make and model, but their emissions are consistently good, leave me alone!

Just when we thought we were Californicated enough! No wonder people are coming here in droves. Will this mean we have to curtsey as we get hosed?

Curtsey? You mean "Hover and lower yourself onto the hose, instead of bend over and let them insert it?" I'm not sure which is worse...

After I finally get out of here, this place can fall into the ocean for all of me. And no, I'm not going to bring any of this mentality with me - I'm sick to the teeth of it, and the only real reason I'm staying here is because my MIL is still kicking (damn.) All of her physicians are here, all of her medical history is here, and she can't live on her own anymore. (Damn.)

And, since my BIL won't even take her for a visit (pissant,) we're stuck with the whole damn job (bugger.)

Wasn't I just mentioning duelling in another thread a few minutes ago? Seems like the solution here - draw a 10-foot circle on the ground - first one out of the circle or out cold loses...

Which ever is the most emasculating.

When the IM240 program came in I saw bumper stickers that read "I got hosed at Envirotest." The reference was to the evacuation procedure in the new testing centers.

$90...still less than a car payment, but the vehicle profiling is government at it's Orwellian best. I have heard testing is not required on vehicles over 25 years old there, not the case here.

It used to be a "rolling" exemption, I think it's fixed now.

And, they're talking about vehicles over 20 years old being send to "Test Only" every year (vice every other year) in order to help fund the "Gross Polluter Retirement Programme." Balls.

Just goes to show why the programme doesn't work - it's just a moneymaker for the government...

None here in Pueblo County.

Im screwed if we adopt Cali Emission laws. 88 XJ with 88/84/94/96/99 motor parts all in a stroker. No EGR valave for them to push in and listen to my baby gasp for air. Cant they just be happy with us running a catalyst converter?
