Any deer hunters here?

I'm thinking of getting a D3-D5 tag for rifle season.

Will any other folk be hunting this season? If so, where?

Is anyone not hunting due to the smoke?

I hunted the first two weeks in D8 (aug 17 was archery opener)

The herd moved lower in elevation when the heat wave hit, and I tried to follow, but no luck. Lot's of 2x2 and small forks.
Amazing bear activity as well, but the coats aren't full yet till the temps start dropping.

I'll be in Kennedy meadows Sept 20-27 for deer.

Yes. Coastal zone...Lots of small forks and a lot of lions and a lot of pigs.

Passed up on a narrow 3x4 on Saturday.

Spotted a monster at 850 yards, but by the time we got within range he was gone. Funny because when we glassed him he was bucking a frolicking around a doe like he was in the rutt.

i've got a D6 tag this year but I'm not going to head up until sometime next month. D6 doesn't close until the end of October.
