I'm ordering gears next week and would like to learn for myself. I'm just wondering if any one in the bay has experience and would be willing to walk me through for beer or barter or what ever.
Thanks guys

Dana 30 with an aussie and a 8.25 track loc and changing and adding clutch plates to make it more aggressive. That would be cool I would like to take some nice pics of the process and would be more than happy to pass them along to you.

Or, if you're going to do them of a Saturday after-noon, perhaps I could come up and bring my camera? That way, you wouldn't have to stop to clean up to take pix, and I could get plenty more that way.

I'll bring my Canon and several 1GB SD cards (I've got a small pocket caseful!)

I'm going to be ordering the aussie and clutch kit this week and gears next week. Short on funds this week. I have standard hand tools and an impact and ratchet. Can you give me a list of persicion tools I will need or anything that is out of the ordinary. I'm ordering the gears as a package from rustys. Going to 4.56 with master install kits for both at $430 I'm deffinately getting them soon.

Dial indicator and magnetic base.
Lb-in torque wrench (reading type, not click type. You want a dial or a beam wrench.)
You'll need a set of bearings already reamed out to slide on and off easily (tear your axle down, and use the old ones. You can hone them out with a cylinder hone - you only need to knock out a few thousandths anyhow. Just enough to turn the "press fit" into a "slip fit.")
Shop press.
