Another Lowering Thread..But this time its an MJ

I want to lower my MJ 2-3 in the front and 3-4 in the rear. Here are my plans so far. Take a TJ coil and because they are softer I can cut off some to my desired height, then because they started out softer they shouldnt be to stiff to ride on. Now the rear is where my problem is. I just installed an XJ shackle thinking it would drop it an inch but insted I got about 3/4 inch lift out of it!! Now I though about it for like an hour and firgued it out, its because the MJ is SUA so the XJ shackle being shorter just pulled the axle closer to the body thus lifting it. So I will be swaping the MJ original shackle back on. Now can someone tell me a decent way to drop the rear to 3/4 inches? I was thinking remove a leaf and also add a block as needed. Any opinions?

Thanks
Chris

Adding a block would be the easiest. Thats what they to for other trucks. As for the front, maybe a coil for a car would be more suitable. Grand Marquis[sp] or something like that? you wold have to make sure it would fit and such, but yeah, maybe something to check into.

Both Of You Guys Are Dumbasses. If You Put Blocks On It You Will Be Lifting It. So Just Give Up, Because Your A Retard And Don't Know What Your Doing.

Your the dumbass...so tell me mr. jeep god how much do you actually know about jeeps? If you knew anything about MJs you would know that they are spring under axle....Do you know what that means? Let me spell it out for you. A block will lower it not lift it. A longer shackle will lower it not lift it. So next time before you open your mouth study up on what you are ranting about..ok? fag....

First off, MJ1990 and 89laredo-

What do you care what other people do to their own rigs? Just because it says Jeep on the front doesnt mean it is going to be a hardcore wheeler. You are the reason that the rest of the 4x4 community thinks jeepers are arrogant dickheads.

next-

when i lifted my rig, the axle moved farther away from the body so you might want to rethink your reasoning. The only thing i can figure is that the springs hadnt settled back down yet after the weight had been taken off of them.
