And further proof that Walmart is evil(if you need it or care)

Westboro protesters face jeers and slashed tires

Shortly after finishing their protest at the funeral of Army Sgt. Jason James McCluskey of McAlester, a half-dozen protesters from Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kan., headed to their minivan, only to discover that its front and rear passenger-side tires had been slashed.

To make matters worse, as their minivan slowly hobbled away on two flat tires, with a McAlester police car following behind, the protesters were unable to find anyone in town who would repair their vehicle, according to police. {Worse, I think this makes the story! :D - tbburg}

The minivan finally pulled over several blocks away in a shopping center parking lot, where AAA was called. A flatbed service truck arrived and loaded up the minivan. Assistant Police Chief Darrell Miller said the minivan was taken to Walmart for repairs.

Even before the protesters discovered their damaged tires, they faced off with a massive crowd of jeering and taunting counterprotesters at Third Street and Washington Avenue, two blocks from the First Baptist Church, where the soldier's funeral was held.

Protestors at a funeral? Hell, I might even agree with what they are saying - while fighting the urge to beat them with pick handles. Absolutely inexcusable.
And yes, F wal-mart.

Just reminds one that the Freedom to say what you want, is not "Free". You may actually be held accountable for it...

In this case, the price was a towing bill and a set of tires :D

Well done folks of McAlester, well done!

You know, I don't think a pick handle would do it. If I was attending a funeral for a friend or family member, and some jacka** was screaming "He deserved to die because God hates fags!" A pick handle just wouldn't do it. There would be no urge to beat anybody with anything.

I'd probably have to plead temporary insanity at my multiple murder trial.(which would be hard to pull off when I'm high-fiving the crowd every time I entered the court room)

Those wackos were in Chatham yesterday. 15 miles north of me. Their assigned protest spot was down the road a bit and behind a hedge row from the funeral home.

Protesters have showed up locally a few times. Every time, they never even come close to the funeral, someone always delays them

Those people were going to go to my high school, because there was a play going on that involved gay subject matter. Really? All the way to San Mateo to protest?

Anyway, my school did a reverse protest, and westboro didnt show up.

They may show up in Pittston Pa, should be interesting, those Pittston people are crazier than the westboro people and bodies and vehicles are easy to get rid of in the hundreds of old coal mines and flooded quarries up there.

love the statment from the councilman 'And unfortunately for them, this is Pittston, and our nuts are crazier than their nuts."

I see a good bumper sticker or signature line there.

Right up there with "we're not insane, we're from New Jersey".

These "christians" are real scum-bags, however, the appropriate "attitude adjustment" for them would be for someone to break into their "church" when they are out of town for a protest and swipe their membership list.

Then the next time they leave town for a protest burn their damn houses to the ground. All of them.

No, no, auction the houses and contents off, then reimburse the funeral costs of families they've protested. :D

Counter-protestors surrounding them with 8 foot tall blank signs would probably be the best solution.

Block them out every time they pull this idiotic crap, deny them the media whoring they do, and eventually they will go back to being bitter and stupid in private.
