AN fittings on regular rubber hose.

Do AN fittings have to go on braided hose? My PSC kit didn't come with any fittings for the low pressure rubber return line.

The socket slid on a little to easy but it seems to be secure.

No. They now have nylon braided as well as rubber lines that fittings can go on.

If it's a barb-type AN fitting, you can put it on pretty much any hose you like without trouble.

For the low pressure side it shouldn't be an issue. Put a hose clamp on it since it slid on easily. For any pressure I would want to use the correct line and fitting though.
