I currently have a Rockford Fosgate P1124, it peaks at 400 watts and is powered by a Rockford Fosgate 3002. This two components makes thunderous noise and it drowns out the poor little factory speakers. I'm on a budget. Tell me what do you think of this set up:

This set up only cost about $150, depending on which amplifier you recommend. I did not if the 240 would be enough or the 600 would be to much. I am willing to spend at least $250 on a better one, I know you have better suggestion then me, a rookie at this. By the way this is going in a 96 Suburban. I just want good quality music. its hard to have too much power. just ask tim the tool man.

the never ending quest for sound quality at high volumes. remember, be a smart shopper, because when it comes to audio components, you get what you pay for. stay away from the lower end stuff. i run all infinity speakers and phoenix gold/infinity on the amplification. it works great, and is crystal clear at volumes that cause pain to my passengers. that is with the refrence series in 5.25 size in the xj. if you can run bigger in the 'burb, do it. component speakers are better too, but real spendy.

save yourself some trouble and use www.sounddomain.com for your product comparisions. this store has the best prices this side of ebay and AMAZING customer service people that hang around and answer calls until after 8pm pacific.
