Been hanging around a little more so I thought I'd give my formal hello.:D

Been a Landcruiser guy for a long time, but my long-term project has had me out of wheeling for about 5 years, so I picked up what seemed to be a pretty good deal on a semi-built XJ that needed a little work. Well...ended up needing a lot of work.

Landcruiser as it sits now. Build thread here http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=652231 if you're interested.

XJ when I picked it up in Sept. Had a blown front ring and pinion and a blown cv in the rear driveshaft.

It's a 97 two door, 4.0, 5 speed
Stuff it came with:
arb locker up front
warn xd9000
teralow 231
~3" lift - 2" spacer w/ upcountry springs front; add a leaf with 1" block in rear

Stuff I've done:
installed 3.55 ring and pinion up front (arb was for 3.55 and down break - boo)
swapped in Ford 9" w/ 3.55, full spool, homebrew 8.8 disk brake setup
spidertrax wheel adapters for front to match rear 5x5.5
new rear driveshaft
swapped 1" blocks for 1" shackles (blocks+wedges= :explosion for the spring center bolts)
33" tires
and fixed a bunch of s*** the previous owner left behind. Lots of stuff that wasn't aparent when I looked it over.

Finally got to take it to Spring Creek and Clayton, Ok in December.

Well I am glad you intro-ed yourself. And welcome, once again, to NAXJA. Can't wait to go wheeling with you.

Nice Jeep. I'd hit that. Btw, what did you do to the rims pictured while it sits on the trailer?

good lookin XJ, and welcome to the RRC!

Thanks ya'll! I'm hoping to make a trip soon. I'm thinking about Rides of March...but I'm also thinking of going to Clayton in April. Not sure which.:D

I love the look of the ARB bumper, but it's a approach angle killer. I may sell it to pay for a different bumper, or I'm also thinking of doing a little choppin how ARB should have done it in the first place. :)

I sold the wheels a while back to pay for the throwback hurricanes.

Well, now that you're here; you have to go to Rides of March. It's a must, all the cool cats are goin. Right Swamp? Even though a few of the old timers will be there, wonder how many more events they have. (All fun and games Midian!) :D lol

It's ok Sparty, us "old timers" are the wisdom of The RRC. And to your standards, BDR is also an "old timer".

BDR, if you do go to the RoM you can head up there when I do. There will be a perk to going up there when I do.

I'm just messin dude. I like you guys, I learn a lot from yall. :D Btw, what is there to do before the event to prepare for the masses? (Wrong thread?)

I know, you better and should and yes, wrond thread... but that subject will come later.

Hope it comes soon, I'm ready.

You definately need to make it out the ROM, that is usually a great gathering of members here. It is always a blast (on and off the trails). LOL
