Now, it needs a new alternator, upper radiator hose, and probably a new belt. The belt is squeeling like crazy whenever the a/c is on, and sometimes when the Jeep is cranked up.....I've got a feeling they didn't tighten it down enough, even though I brought it back right as I noticed it after picking it up this morning. The upper rad. hose has a small hole in the bottom of it from rubbing against one of the bolts on the a/c compressor. I picked up the hose on my way back and will probably put it on this weekend.

The alternator has been screaming at me for quite some time, and now it's worse after the accident...so i'm just going to go ahead and replace it.

The only thing that really bugs me is the Jeep emblem is a little high up on the front. I also got a can of the paint he put on the front end caps on my way home, so I can make the rest match.

Other than that, i'm very please with how it turned out.....and just damn glad to have it back.

Glad you got it back and it does look good.

The emblem being misplaced would drive me up the wall!

Oh trust me, it's really getting on my OCD right now.....sometime soon i'll have to get another one and fix that myself.

New alternator, serpentine belt, and upper radiator hose are going on Sunday.

What are the brackets on top of the bumperettes for?

Look like flash shoes!

Deer whistle mounts

The Jeep emblem would drive me nuts but the rest of the work is great

Correct....they're for the deer whistles that I used to run on there....got tired of others bumping them off when they walked by the Jeep, so I havent put them back on.

And the Jeep emblem is really getting on my OCD...LOL.

was it a black bronco? i remember reading something on nc4x4 about a guy getting hit by a xj.

Yup....and check out the thread I linked in this one....a user on here spotted it over on NC4x4 and told me it was over there.

It looks great Tim, just like it did before any of the accidents happened, they did an awesome job on it. Are you going to use PG8 to color match the endcaps or just go matte black like the rear?

The paint is made by a company called SEM, and the color code is 39393 "Chrysler Gray Green"....and i'll paint the rest to match eventually.

Looks great! And I have to agree about the emblem thing...that would drive me nuts too! Guess i'm OCD too about some things...

the lines look pretty good after they fixed it. Impressed. You can take it back to the shop and request that they might as well put the emblems on the roof. :D

LOL I could do that...but i'll probably just end up fixing it myself eventually.

Well got the alternator and upper radiator hose on today......It's nice not hearing the alternator screaming for the first time in almost 4 years:eek:

Didn't get a belt on today because my dad got the wrong size belt when he picked up the alternator yesterday.....so i'll have to do that this week.

I did however find out once I got the belt off and was removing the alternator, the Idler and AC Clutch are both bent, and need to be replaced ASAP.......just keeps getting better and better! :banghead:

Your "cute little jeep" looks really nice. I could have sworn I ran into you on I-85 north of Durham the other day, but the XJ I saw was a Classic.

wow man my wife did almost the same thing to her jeep. slightly less damage.
i hope when im done with hers (im doin all the work my self) it looks as good as yours.
