Got a question.
I just got orders to move to Elmendorf AFB, AK. I'll be there for the next 4 years. I'm very excited and can't wait to wheel up there but I have a delima.

I chopped my XJ a while back. I've been running no doors and a half roof with an open back for over a year now. I still have doors that I can throw on and off when I want to but they mainly stay off.

My question is this. I have another XJ in my driveway that is mostly unmolested. Should I move over all the good stuff to this Jeep, like my lift, and drivetrain to the full body XJ or have a soft top made for the back of my XJ. I won't be able to move over my Cage from my current XJ to the full body and I've already done the quarter panel 2x6 mod. Those are two Items that I'd like to keep but would be too much of a Pita to swap over.

Outside of a stock motor, auto trans and 231 sye, I've got a d44 rear, non disco d30 front, 4.56's, 33's, locked front and rear, 4.5" lift, and custom stuff all over it.

Give me some direction please. I know it gets cold up there and there is plenty of snow but I need to make a decision soon. if I'm swapping to the full body It'll take a while. I'm moving in November. And right now I'm deployed and won't be home till August.

Thanks guys.
Tyson.

swap it over man, take warmth over the benefit of a cage! it gets miiiiiiighty cold up yonder lol. you can always cage it later bro... if i was closer i'd help ya!

If I was to redo a cage it'll be an exo. Every time I roll my Jeep I have to beat the roof straight to get my doors to close. Also gets in the way of repairs and such.

For the Wife and kids who wheel with me I'm leaning toward the full body XJ.

My dad lives in Anchorage and drives a YJ. He leaves the rag-top on year round and only puts the windows on in the winter. I'd take it up there before you decide you don't want it. Or drop it off in SLC, Utah and I'll take the parts I want.... :D
