Does anyone have alarms on thier rigs?

I do but I usually have it on valet unless I am going to be in an area I do not trust or know .

What is a good inexpensive alarm kit to get. I dont have tint and I do have a rather nice Alpine head unit.

I have always used "Crime Guard." They are easy to put in if doing it yourself and they are straight forward(user friendly)

Instead of a simple and easily disabled alarm why not try a complete vehicle retrieval system such as this one.

I don't. My rig stays in my garage when I'm not wheeling it (its not my DD) and when I'm wheeling it I don't worry about it.

Of course, I do have an H&K theft-deterrent system.

Well the previous owner of my jeep put in a theftlock key on the underside of the steering column. Its a black plastic key that unplugs out of an electrical port. Is this a theft deterrant system?

It would only be a theft deterent if it was visible, and it made them move on to another vehicle before they tried to steal yours. It may keep them from actually stealing it, but it probably wouldn't keep them from trying.

So if I take the key out of it when I get out, do you think that would stop the jeep from starting again, even if I have my ignition key in

I say your reputation is the best theft deterrent out there. Last guy that took a peek at the inside of a vehicle outside my house got his LCL, ACL, MCL, and PCL blown up by a hollow tip to the back of his knee. (I was angry before the incident, so he just had bad luck. I could of just screamed at him to step back.) Anyways, also, a friend of mine has a master battery kill switch installed in her JK. Since here you only have to worry about your entire vehicle being stolen, not just broken into.

I'm pretty sure that knee-capping a guy for peeking in a window is a bad idea, even in Texas. So, lets put that one at the top of the "Bad Advice" pile.
