Air dam - what is the purpose ?

Hey, maybe the Myth Busters will have a show on it. They can test the MPG with air dam, and without. With lift, and without. I volunteer my Jeep for their test. Wait, they like to blow things up....

Put a big spoiler on the back and that should make up for loss of the air-dam.
