send some of the white stuff to jersey...:)

Sonofa #$#%!(* dayumm!! I had to run down into Castle Rock for an errand that couldn't wait. No big deal - get out of the unplowed neighborhood, down the packed-snow street, fill the tank. Was doing fine until I got down Fifth St just west of Valley. Saw a Cherokee stuck in the ditch and digging, so I stopped to help - even as I pulled in ahead of him and stopped I felt the tires slide sideways toward the ditch.

Sure enough, as I got him dug out, I knew I wasn't going to make it. I was [ijust[/i] over that unrecoverable hump, and all I could do was slide down deeper in the ditch as I moved forward. Did I mention that I had already landed in the (water-filled) ditch once already? Dayumm....that's cold.

Finally got a tug from another motorist and got out, so I went back to try to repair some of the damage to the ditch. As I got back in the Jeep, I looked back uphill and saw a little import stuck where the first guy was, and a couple guys in a Wrangler heading back to help him. Break out the shovel again and trudge uphill....

Dude fawked the front bumper of his Honda when he slid in; the Wrangler guys only had a strap and no gloves, shovels or anything - so I dug the Honda out and hooked up the strap. Honda driver got pulled down the ditch too, but didn't drive; I had to yell a few times for him to hit the gas and pull with the front wheels. He got out, the Wrangler guys got their strap back, and Honda driver kept thanking us over and over...it turns out he's the delivery driver for Tasty House Chinese restaurant, and told me o come get some food later. Karma eventually gets back to ya ;)

I shall have yet another snow day tomorrow. :laugh3:

This afternoon we took a nice drive up to Rampart Range and checked it out. Think I might do a little bit of sleddin' tomorrow.

I love snow, but it can be a pain:

Went to Kmart to buy snow boots for the kid and picked up an electric chainsaw. Buying something out of the garden section caused all kinds of confusion at the check out. It was hidden in the corner. It's good to be able to buy craftsman stuff at Kmart.

You all suck! LOL You get mountians of beautiful white stuff, I get an inch of water with a couple more inches of slush on top. Grant you I love being, and working outdoors, but the slush was just plain miserable:

If I had the mountian of white, the idiots on the highway would have stayed in the plowed lane. Instead they drive down the middle of a four lane highway so I can pass them on the shoulder. :pig:

Get to work, roll out and I'm soaked before I can get rain gear on. C'mmooooonnn cold weather! :shiver:

Then there's the work I do; air brake systems on rail-road cars. Had I tested this car yesterday it would have passed. Today I chased down leaks, tomorrow I cut access holes to replace some obsolete fittings. :rattle:

I expect to be over it by morning, have fun!

Never posted the pics from up here.
