Aftermarket front axle housings

Re: Re: Aftermarket front axle housings

oh wow. any housings? no budget?

9" floater out back :loveu: http://www.9inchfloater.com/CompleteRrEnd/CmplteRrEnd_35_40.htm

then definitley a mega hi9 http://www.truehi9.com/megahi9.html
and have these guys send me the rest http://www.spidertrax.com/products/spider-9

Wow I'm only 800 into my 35spline full float 9inch so far. all I need is calipers, pads, rotors and link brackets and it's done. So I'm guessing I'll be under or around a grand. Still way cheaper than that axle.

Ever seen how the JK D44 front housing holds up to abuse? It doesnt really. Even with a truss the tube to housing plug welds fail and fall out and the tubes wallow out the housing. You might get a year or 5 out of it. But I have seen personally a few now on 35's and alum wheels, have this issue, and heard of many more.

I haven't seen them thrashed too bad, I didn't realize they were that weak.

Well the one was even trussed and sleeved and stock locker. Its a guy some here knows from so cal Squirel something. I dont know his naxja name but its Jeff from Cat. city. a few here know him. His housing just started literally falling apart. He wheeled it pretty hard, but only on 35's.

A second one I saw was on a JK with 35's and had sleeves and ARB35sp conversion with RCV's. But only slightly used hard. Nothing more then Jeff's XJ.

I think the Housing might do a bit better if preheat and welded of the tubes to housing and post heat, missed with better truss and sleeves...

dana 30, stock, bring 8 spares (yes I am joking.)

There's a factory 8 lug 44 but I don't believe that's what cal was talking about, since it's got the same axle shaft and ujoint strength as a regular 44. Just larger brakes, spindles?, and lug pattern, basically.

hrm? thats what i'm running. same 760x ujoint, same ball joints, bigger, heavier, more expensive parts from there on to the lug nuts.

If doing a d44. Do a teraflex bare tera44 with jk inner forged c's set up for rubi or standard locker. Get some dana 30 jk outer knuckles and unit bearings and brakes. Then get a arb 35 sp and some rcv's. And run a 5×5 pattern wheel.

have currie put their hd bracket kit on it.
