Advice needed on 99 Rear End

The rear end in my wife's 99 XJ Sport has started to roar.
I have seen several D44s from Grand Cherokees listed.
They have rear disk brakes.
Is it possible to switch the rear ends without much fabrication ?
I know the old saying, anythings possible with enough money, but after all, this is just my wife's rig.
Any advice on this will be appreciated.

That would require switching from a coil/link suspension to a leaf spring setup, quite a bit of fabbing to get right... plus, the GC D44 is an aluminum center section POS to be avoided. You can put discs from the D44 on the XJ axles, just search for the information, it has been done many times.
