first question is about the temp. senser, its on my closed radiator but not on the open.... what do i do with it??? the second question is about the way you run the hoses to the heater and overflow bottle, i never took a good look at how these are sapose to go so any info would be good.

Thanks

Well, you have run into the big problem everyone else does. How to turn on the coolant fan. Recently my buddy at work did this conversion. What we did was use a coolant fan control switch from a GM car. Just buy the newer style (91+) thermostat housing and put the fan switch in it. We then used a relay to control the high current that runs through the old style fan control switch, and used the GM style switch to ground the relay. I don't have the part numbers for the fan control switch and connector, but I can get them for you on Monday. I think the switch came from an 87 Olds Cutlass Ciera with the 2.8l engine. The system works just fine at this point, but we have yet to really test it out on a hot day.

Here is the coolant flow diagram

Hope this helps, I will post the part numbers on Monday night if you still need them.

so is the temp sensor that is on my closed radiator just to turn the fan on or is it for my guage also? i have a manual switch that turns on that fan already so that is why im asking. oh yea, what temp cap should i get for the radiator?

thanks

Bryan

The senser in your radiator is to turn on the electric fan only based on radiator temp. The temp gauge sender unit is at the back of the head. I have heard specs for the cap range from 13lb tp 16lb. I would just get a standard 15lb cap.

I'll try to make a write up on Monday with the part numbers and how to hook it all up and post it in the Mod tech forum.

i finished it and it doesnt over-heat, i still need to put a thermostat in it though. i drove it for an hour today and it didnt even get above 1/4 on my guege.
