A little vacation help

My wife, my daughter (5 mths old), and I are going to come to CO for a long weekend in August...Arrive Denver on the 18th and fly back to TN on the 21st.

Suzie wants places to window shop and walk (stroller friendly), nice restaurants, a spa, and a relaxing atmosphere.

I want basically the same thing, but also want a nice place to fish or mountain bike should I get antsy sitting around. I would also like accomodations, like a chalet or something, with a kitchenette and an in room hot tub.

We would prefer not to be in a hotel, and we would consider a B & B.

We basically have it narrowed down to Aspen or Vail. Now I realize that Aspen is about 2x as far from the Denver airport as Vail is, and that might make a difference.

Can anyone give me any first hand information about either of these destinations and any personal recommendations. I have been to both cities, but only for a day each, so I don't remember them all that well.

I would welcome other suggestions beyond Vail and Aspen as well.

From the hills of Middle Tennessee, I thank y'all for your help!

Geese, READ....dumba$$! :dunce::wave:

Why do I need to read about Geese? I don't like Geese. I like chicken and turkey, but even so, I want to know about taking a vacation to Colorado...dumba$$.

Sorry, I was talking about DJ there aka 91 Jeep Project. Estes Park is great for fishing or mountain biking, with the town of Estes not too far away with shops and the like. But, I personally would recommend Breckenridge. It seems to be my second home come winter time (skiing). There are alot of shops to check out, and some great scenic areas near by. You could drive Boreas Pass right nearby for some BEAUTIFUL views. There are alot of easy drive passes, that provide outstanding scenic views. I just did it this last weekend, and there are many mountain bikers that prefer to bike it. If not I think you can mountain bike breckenridge's mountains themselves? Im not sure really about the fishing near Breckenridge, but theres GOT to be some near...

I own a time share in Breckenridge, lots of stuff as far as shopping and outdoor activities. Moutain biking, fishing, and a killer alpine slide on the slopes. Like Fred said not too far from Denver and not as hoity toity as Vail or Aspen.
