A Few Questions...

I am slowly building my Jeep, its a 99' XJ 2 Door, Automatic 4wd. I need a new manifold/ exhaust (It is time to replace the muffler so I am just going to get a better exhaust)
Question is what is the best manifold/ header to go with, without breaking a college kids' bank. Also should I go with a 2.25" Collector or a 2.5"?

Second I have been reading some about the transmissions. I want to put a trans cooler on it seeing as I am going to be towing things from time to time. Where would a good place to put a trans cooler, and what would be some upgrades to do to the trans so it doesnt slip?

Also any other performance upgrades that you guys would suggest doing, that are decently cheap and that I could do in a weekend or so?

As for the header, go with a 2.5" or 3" collector. 2.5" exhaust

You can do a bored out throttle body (http://www.strokedjeep.com/) and a CAI. I recommend a CAI that has a good shield or box to protect from under hood heat. Or make your own. You can wrap the underside of your intake manifold with heat reflective material. Along with the fuel rail, injectors, and fuel line that goes near the manifold.

I like my Thorley header. They redesigned it several years back and I beat on the new one pretty hard and it hasn't cracked. But its not cheap.

I doubt you could tell the performance difference between the two.
