A different approach on Craig's List

So I was feeling pretty smug just 2 nights ago, reading about guys on here getting scam emails on CL. I've sold stuff on there several times and never got those emails. Until now. The first response simply read "Still Available?" Okaay ... I've had those before, and they were legit. I simply replied "Yes".
Below is his response: (By the way, his email shows up as coming from "Jeff Nolan" Watch out for him)

I'm glad you still have it for sale,i would have love to come and see it,but my scheduled is very tight.I will mail out your payment once you provide your full name.phone number and address.I can only pay via money order as am on a business trip now,pls let me know where to send your payment to because i wouldn't want to lose it to some else.I don't mind adding ($20) dollars so you can keep it in my favor, you should get your payment in 7-9 working days i will appreciate if you can get the ad off craigslist so i can be sure you are keeping it in my favor. Please let me know as soon as you receive it so i can start making arrangement for the pick-up.
Thanks

Wanna have some fun with this guy in the morning ... I know it's pretty late right now, hope this thread doesn't get buried. Any one have any suggestions to yank his chain?

I got this email for the m12000 I posted on CL the other day:

Hi,

I came across your AD on craigslist and I'm very interested in purchasing your item. Firstly I want to make sure its the similar type that my son is after. I know it's a bit odd for a mom to be looking in the auto part section but It's his birthday coming up and I want to make it a BIG surprise for him. I'm a single mom and obviously know nothing about car parts (lol). So I'm hoping you can help me out. Heres a video I copied from my son's PC. Can you please take a look and confirm its the same type. VID1 (if not work try VID2). I'm willing to pay more than what youre asking for as long it matches the video description and you can reserve it for me.

Cheers!
Sonya.

I just told her here links don't work and she has to pay for it and pick it up in person. IS that a problem. Of course I never heard back from her.
Tell the person you will hold it with a $20 money order and drive it to their house since it has to be a face to face deal. Ask them for their address and phone # to call them. You won't hear anything from them. For every 3 legit email I get for CL listings, I get one crap email.:smsoap:

Once you are sure that he is a spammer, sign *Jeff Nolan* up for as many gay/beastiality pornographic email newsletters as you possibly can!
Ah yes ... that sounds like an excellent idea! :D I'm not trying to see if this is a scam ... I know it is. So I don't need to insist on the face-to-face thing. WHat I want to do is teach the bastard a lesson ... get under his skin.

Now, only problem is, I'd have to go to the porno websites to sign him up, and I don't want their footprints on my computer! Any good way to do this and not compromise my system??

Any other ideas out there?

do it on another computer????

Most people that spam do it on junk accounts they set up just for spamming use, not their actual personal accounts. Going through all that hassle just wastes your time. They either don't pay attention to it or move onto their next junk account. I'd just delete it and forget it.

Tell them sure and youll ship them the item out without payment or their stupid money order, just tell you what the address is. Then pack up a exploding bottle of aids and tape needles and broken glass to it. When they open up the package, BOOM its over, no more spam.

That just made my day!

There was some epic thread somewhere years ago. A guy was selling a laptop on ebay and a scammer bid huge, and the seller knew it. It was the third or fourth time it had happened while trying to sell the laptop. He was a member of some forum that had members all over the world. So he took the fake payment, and the members chipped in to help ship a fake computer made out of carboard and sharpie to England where the scammer actually was. He actually had members in England witness the guy sign for and receive the package. He documented the whole process throughout.
