So I am taking a new job starting on the first. You are lookin at the newest edition to the 460th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Buckley AFB. I am civilian contracted in Mobility. I will basically be issuing the troops gear and weapons. And maintaining the inventory on site, as well as tracking gear that has been issued. I will no longer be a creature of the night. I will have banker hours from now on 07:30 - 16:30. I am going from part-time, no benefits, to full time, full benefits; and the pay raise about killed me. So needless to say I am very excited to start my new job. And I thought I'd just throw that out there for you guys that were semi in the know....................

OK, let's see the list of upgrades you have already figured out you are going to spend your new found wealth on.:wave1:

Congrats.

outstanding!

Congrats DJ! Nice hear of something going positive for you!

........... Getting that D44 built, installed and off my back patio would be a fantastic start....... :D

Congratulations DJ! I'm sure this helps your life feel a bit more anchored now after all the recent drama you've had going on.

look at you over there... FINALLY taking my advice to find something else to do for a living. "I'm broke", "I don't have any money", etc... OOOF! Couldn't hardly take it anymore. ;)

Good deal, DJ. Glad things are turning in the right direction now.

Kind of off topic.. I need to swing down and grab those boxes from you. Now that our work schedules are somewhat in synch, I might swing down some night from the office.

EDIT: Mind cleaning that crap off them for me? :D

Congrats and best of luck with the new job.

X2  I may see ya there sometime as I visit the reserve center once a month.

Congrats DJ! Those benefits alone are money in the bank.

After you get settled in you'll have to tell us where all that de-commisioned equipment goes after it leaves your custody. It'd be nice to score another flight jacket. 8~P

Congrats man...

Then maybe you should of stopped asking questions that would yield such answers...............;)

Thanks guys, it should be a good change for me. As far as the Jeep goes, getting that D44 built and under my rig is and has been priority, even before the new job. I haven't spent a dime on anything else since that little incident. After that, I don't really have any immediate plans for the XJ.

Good luck on the new job...

Just for my own personal interests, what manufacturer is Buckley using now for their ACH's (advanced combat helmets) and CBRN's (chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear) masks? I'm only asking because they should be using MSA, my employer.

You may not know yet, or able to disclose that information, but thought i would ask. Sorry it’s a little off topic.

So don't count your money before you have it, glad that I didn't. I've basically been thrust into the world of Government Contracting with this. The company that still held/holds the contract until the first, just got an extension until Feb. 2008. So I will not be moving into my new position next month. I am still in line to receive the job, but not until then at this point. I am also so far out the door at my old job that I cannot do it anymore. I have been at it for 3.5 years, and only enjoyed it for maybe one year. So I don't know what I am going to do, but I need to find something to hold me over for the next 5 months. Because I cannot afford to be unemployed. I'm just gonna have to get something going here. Wish me luck............:helpme:

Damn, that sucks DJ.

Wanna be a parts monkey for the House '0 Heeps? :D
