99xj suspension noises

I have a stock 4.0L 99xj sport 4-door that makes a banging noise when I drive over consecutive bumbs. It sounds like it's coming from the rear end. It seams like my rear suspension is bottoming out. It doesn't make any sense since it has leaf springs. I replaced the shocks & that didn't help.
Any ideas.
