99 5speed to auto swap ?? asap

Any ideas what need to be done ? how doable is this swap ? looking at a xj that is 5speed , but i hate shifting gears . have auto to put in . out of a 97 . give me some info .

Requires a PCM from an auto. Many OBDII vehicles don't interchange even in the same year and model, but if you get a pcm from an OBDII cherokee and the transmission from that same cherokee it should work.

yes doing a swap on the little white 4door that rode aetna with us "randle" .

larry has found me a replacement xj it's a 99 with a 5speed thats out of the truck . i'm going to put the auto out of my 97 if it will work and is not to much trouble to do . this is why i need info ASAP .

have you not heard about larry backflipping and barrel rolling my xj friday morning ??

The shift controller would work, and if you want to check one out let me know, I run one in mine.

The other concern I would have is that the 5 speed body almost certainly doesn't have the harness for the auto. There is a high likely hood that the connector is in the main harness to connect with the auto harness, but I don't know that for sure.
