'98 ZJ Borla header

The one without the tape is the Borla.

I think you can make it work--worse case is that you have to chop the downpipe a bit, but the header will bolt-on w/ no issues(well you might have to clearance #6 primary if you have a 99+ intake manifold; now's a good time to install one). Also, make sure that your o2 wire doesn't touch the header now that it has to immediately do a 180* and go back to the front of the engine(blew my pcm that way). I tucked it in the oilpan studs and used nuts to keep it in place(can use zipties too).

Unfortunately you're gonna have to install both pieces snug then I did a card check to see if I could slide one between the two--I couldn't, so I used a sharpie to mark around the primary and the intake manifold, then removed both, ground a little out of the IM and used the ball end of the hammer to dimple the primary. The interference was about 1/4-1/3".

Lloyd had a write-up on this; the pics are gone from his website, but I saved them while I was fooling with mine.

The pics will make more sense if you dig up the write up, but honestly, I think you'll figure it out regardless. I just used a file and a hammer; and I wouldn't think it would be much more different/difficult with any brand of header.

I clamped the manifold on my bench with the gasket lined up, then tried to fit the header; it was readily obvious where they were going to hit. On an APN it's the #6 primary, which is what the writeup and pics address.

Thanks guys, I'll be able to bolt them up with the engine on a stand in my shop so I guess i'll test fit everything before it goes in the jeep.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'll probably pick it up and see what I can do with it. The guy wants $100 for the brand new Borla header with the intermediate pipe. As for the one with tape, he told me he doesn't know the brand, but it doesn't have any leaks. He wants $30 for it.
