98 xj whole, possibly part out.

98 xj, 4.0 auto, black. Replacement 4.0L with 40K mi, new RE 3.5 Super Flex lift, just had body work done and painted recently.

I am going to take a look at it soon, and will report back. It was hit hard in the front left corner and insurance said total it. I dont know the extent of the damage. Too bad he just got done 'restoring' it.

He is interesting in selling pretty much whole. He will take a reasonable offer for it the way it sits (minus a few things like the rims and tires, but it will have decent rims and tires on it). He might be interested in parting it out if a good offer doesnt come along.

I would get it just to grab what I wanted and sell off the rest and still make some money, but I just dont have the funds up front.

well what is he looking to get for it?? I could shoot offers all day but if the insurance is totaling hes already getting a good chunk of change anyhow...so I dunno...could you let me know the extent of the axle/front end damage?

I hope to talk to him this weekend about it and take a look at it in person. I will post back an asking price and details then.
 
The blue xj is mine, thanks for the comments! It is too bad about the black one.....he had alot of $$ and work into it, now he just wants a new H3 cause he doesnt want to go through fixing up another jeep...... :(

Give me some ideas of worth.... He has a figure, but I think my influence would go a long way..... 2500? 2000? I definitally think if someone gave a good offer he would just sell it. Otherwise he will part it out, but doesnt really want to go through that.
 
Dibs on the rear hatch lift's, tow hooks and brackets if you have them.
 
Ok, heres the low down.... the front springs are out of it due to the axle damage. So, it was hard to see the front end well due to being so low to the ground.

It basically went up and on top of the vehicle that cut him off. The bulk of the damage is the front axle. The LCA mount was ripped from the driverside of the axle. The LCA's (RE super flex) look good, the RE 3.5 coils look good, the front shocks are broke, the rear springs and shocks are good. The steering is bent, and the trackbar frame side rod end (stock bar) was sheared off. The front driveshaft yoke ears were broken. The front fenders are shot, as is the header panel, the front doors are ok, just missing paint on the leading edges from hitting the fenders, hood is tweaked but should be ok. Both air bag are blown. Interior is good, everything from the front fenders back looks great. The glass is all good, including the factory sunroof. The engine looks good, the radiator is leaking, but I didnt see apparent damage. T-case, and transmission looked good. New exhaust untouched. It doesn't look too bad as far as frame/uni-body damage, i think a good shop can fix it.

No skids, tow hooks, and I think its a 8.25 rear, but Im not 100% sure, you can see it in the pic link on my original post. It has 3.55's are far as I know, aw4, 231,... power locks/windows, cloth interior.... pretty standard sport.

The jeep just had all the body work done and was painted a few weeks ago. The lift was just put in before that work was done. He basically fixed or replaced anything that wasn't working right or worn out, and did the maintance items. The replacement motor has alittle over 40K Mi on it (the original is included, through a rod) He has owned it since new or close to it, and was planning to keep it for awhile. He has alot of money tied up in this jeep and is looking to do the best he can , but is expecting a loss.

With all that being said he would like to entertain offers for the whole thing first. It can easily be towed away. Please, if you are interested e-mail me your offer at [email protected] with your offer. I know what he has into it, what insurance gave him and how much he is out.

He would just like to get this over with quick and easy and recoop what he can.

Please read the posts. He wants to sell it whole right now.... not excepting parts requests.

If he doesnt sell it, he will part out. I will post then, and give details.

true, but if he decides to part it out I will help him on pricing and posting, but he is on his own for working deals. Right now I am just helping him get the word out on the whole thing.

Hang tight, I don't expect he will hold out that long before parting out.
