Went to pick up my daughter this am.. noticed it was getting difficult to get into gear and pedal getting soft. Gradually got worse.

Master is full, no visable leaks on external slave/line or either side of firewall. Starting in 1st and pedal fully depressed the Jeep will roll. Called for a tow, awaiting for it to get picked up and brought home.

How do i diagnose if it's the master or slave cylinders?

External slave, right? I'd bet that you've got a seal leak past a piston, but no idea which one. IIRC, this is available as a prebled set, that's probably the route I'd go. It's fairly easy to change.

Yes, external.

The slave i swapped a few years back. Q-Tech lists the entire assembly or the slave seperatley for the 94+, guess i'll go with the full assembly this time around.

Glad it didnt go a month ago out west..

Received the master/line/slave assembly from Quadratec, installed it this am. Once i remembered the "reverse" bleeding technique it was a cakewalk...

I was surprised to see a braided hydraulic line on the Crown replacement unit, and Q-Tech price matched Rock Auto's price.. saved me $40 and had it next day.

I've had an internal slave leak in my old Courier. Master stayed full but I had no clutch.

I was poor back then though so I spend two weeks driving it without a functional clutch.
