Just wanted to follow up here. After two jumps in two months, I replaced the battery and all is well. Sometimes the obvious fix is the right one.
I had the battery tested and was told it was on it's way out. It was about a 6 year old battery. It lived a good life. The final straw was when it ran itself down when I left the parking lights on for about 5 minutes.
