OK, I searched for info on this and came up dry. So I will ask it here.
Will running higher octane fuel on a post-RENIX 4.0L offer any benefit? Does the engine adjust the ignition timing to the higher octane benefits somehow without the knock sensor?
Is there any benefit to running the higher octane gas?
In California, and many places now, the gas is 10% ethanol regardless of octane, so the power and fuel economy is already suffering. Does running higher octane recover any of that loss?
