Alternately, you could spend a few more to get a PORC SYE and then use a front XJ driveshaft in the rear. http://www.yuccaman.com/jeep/porc_sye.html

i have a family friend who has a driveline business who will build the driveshaft for me so that part is easy.

there's a round red tag on the t-case.
Or by the shift pattern on the bezel, if you've got a full time 4wd option it's a 242.
