Hi Folks ... my "other" vehicle is a Ford Truck:

- '89 F250
- 5.8L 351 Windsor motor
- Fuel injected

It's not idling. It will fire up and run at high RPMs, but will die if I don't pump the gas pedal to keep it running.

It seems like a fuel issue. Any advice? Something to get me started? This forum has been a huge help with my '91 XJ, I'm hoping someone out there knows Fords too.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would try here for ford specific. Much like NAXJA there are a lot of great minds happy to help.

I'd check your fuel pressure, If you have the same computer as my 89 mustang you can run a cylinder balance test. That can point you in the right direction if there's a specific cylinder having injector/ignition problems.

Ok ... the problem was the MAP sensor. I tested the IAC and TPS ... both were fine. tested the MAP and it was way off. $50.00 at NAPA for a new one and 5 minutes to swap it out. Truck is running like new again.

Working on that truck makes me pine for working on my XJ.

Thanks for your help!
