88 XJ Front Axel

While taking my steering knuckels off to change out all 4 ball joint i noticed oil leaking from the axel shafts onto the knuckels.....would that be the inner seal or am I really up a creek here ?

Likely just the shaft moving about when you are messing with the knuckle.

The seals are not that hard to change, once you have the axles out. Just requires you to pull the carrier.

They often burp a little when you pull the shafts, if they leak after they are put back in then consider changing the seals. Some of that burped out oil may come out the tube in the next couple of weeks also
