Well you know when you tell a first time Jeep owner to not buy a Jeep because of its condition and they ignore you because they think they can work on it. Well thats my problem. This Jeep has wires all over the place and half the shit doesnt work.
Problem: This YJ has wires all over the place and tonight we stripped the dash and connected all the visible grounds. Well we got the A/C fan working properly. The headlights have no power at all which means he cant drive it at night. I tried to trace the wires but the YJ dash is so god damn cramped, but looks like they go to the fuses. On the engine side of the fuse box the big gauge red wire looks like its been cut and crimped to another device which i have no damn clue does what which bypasses another connector that is suppose to goto the frame rail.
Solution: Run new wire. Problem Im good with wiring but as far as relays and fuses go Im a lost cause. What should I do as far as relays and fuses. Go straight from the batt and install a 20amp fuse inline?
Ideas are awesome.
Also anyone have a link to a FSM that can be PMd to me because chiltons does a crap job when it comes to electrical.
Other Problems: Vacum canister has been disconnected and I dunno where it plugs into. Also does the fan turn off, because the off position just closes the vents and the fan still runs.
Rant: The dumb ass of a previous owner rhino lined the thing to hell and pasted it all over wires and fabric. Guy was nice enough to leave the sway bar disconnects on, that were meant for 5" of lift and took the lift so the 33" tires dig into the fender flares leaving 1" of clearance. Also the speedo doesnt work because the cable is broken and probally the teeth on the speedo gear. Ebrake cable looks like it was ripped off during a 4wheel run and I have no clue how it goes back into the cab so Ill probally just replace the whole thing with heavy gauge steel wire.
