87 2.5 to 4.0 conversion

does anybody have any specifics or advice on what to look out for or what would make the conversion easier. i am also looking to go from auto to manual what do i do about the clutch pedal ?

Find a donor and score the complete wiring harness under the hood. Also score all the ancillary under the hood pieces. The pedal assy will unbolt under the dash, so grab that while you are at it, The ECU is right there above the gas pedal.

oh ya and don't forget that the motor mounts are in the wrong spot on your rig.the 2.5 is a shorter block and the mounts are further back on the frame rails.you have to torch those off and weld no ones in not a real fun thing.

The motor mounts are in exactly the same place. Just get the ones for the 4.0L. They bolt right on.
